Welcome to Carleton University's Latin-American Student Organization's (LASO) official website. Here you will be able
to learn about our club, events and activities, and share ideas. Being the only club representing Latin-Americans within the
university, our primary goal is to promote Latin-American culture within the community.
LASO was founded by Latin-American students attending the University of Carleton, whom, united by the same interests,
opened the doors both inside and outside the academic community to the 'latinidad'. Varied groups of Latin-Americans,
concentrated in this social and multicultural atmosphere, created the stimulus for the emergence of Latin-American creativity
and latin soul through dances, varied meals,literary presentations, and social gatherings.Thus, giving birth
to a place where different ideas and cultures maybe be exchanged, as well as a place of encounter and friendship between
Latin Americans whom are interested in preserving their traditions and sharing them with friends. This
is the premise of this establishment.
